Indiantown Island, Boothbay Harbor Maine

Now this was a great find with an even better story. The only way to get to this island is by boat (specifically kayaks). Trish, Rick, Doug, and I decided to see if there was any place we could dock our small boat. Half the island is private. The other half is Boothbay Harbor Landtrust. The only dock looked like it was private, but Trish and I decided to give it try. Once we hit land, we KNEW it was private property, and figured out that we would have to go over it to get to the trail. Lenny, the caretaker approached us (I'm sure wondering what the heck we were doing). We told him all about geocaching, then apologized for trespassing and started to leave. Lenny said, "wait a minute, I want to find this thing, too". Once we read him the clues, he seemed to know exactly where it was located. He gave us a ride in his cool and convenient ATV. And, it was Lenny who actually found the cache. We couldn't have done it without him. He was kind enough to let us take his picture. But, the funniest part of this trip was the look on Doug and Rick's faces when we rode back to the dock in Lenny's ATV. It was quite an adventure. We signed the log, left nothing, took nothing, but brought back an awesome story.
